Kids Need Age Appropriate Church With Pizza Parties and Fart Jokes

Okay, so if they are your kids, I guess it is up to you to decide how your children will receive religious instruction.  It's your choice.

This video presents one church's misguided argument for age-appropriate instruction at church.  Children are not capable, they say. of understanding the Word of God unless it is repackaged in a fun way that will stimulate them and penetrate their minds at their own levels.

On the other hand, if your children belong to God and you have a stewardship responsibility to Him for their instruction in righteousness, you might be interested in considering what His Word has to say about this subject.  Daisy at "I'm Nobody!  Who Are You?" has made a very good biblical argument for children being  IN CHURCH with their parents.

So they are your responsibility.  What are you gonna do?  Are you going to give them what they want or are you going to give them what they need?   Will you shuffle them off to some goofy youth leader who is barely older and not much wiser than they or keep them beside you under the instruction of God's Word from your pastor?

The church needs less fart humor and more Dad's who take the initiative to shepherd their families, both at church and at home.

Agreed. Great post.

I like fart jokes and pizza... but my children should get those from me, not from the church. The church is a tool to teach and aide the family to raise their children in the ways of God, not divide it... but many churches have forgotten this.

WMG is definitely right. My kids are my responsibility.

God help us all.

Ellery,

Thanks for the affirmation but I don't deserve it. Actually that "Daisy" did a great job of refuting the age-appropriate worship stuff. Did you read her post? She's a real sharp cookie, don't you think?
